Profile

The Division of AutomationTechnology is developing new technologies and systems which combine innovative kinematic and control concepts with methods from the field of machine vision. Our focus is on systems for optical testing both in relation to industrial quality control and in relation to the protection of humans, objects, documents and processes. Our developments are aimed at the growing markets of process automation and robotics, as well as those of security technology and logistics.

R&D Topics

The core competencies of the Division of Automation Technology are robotics, process control, digital image processing as well as pattern recognition. Techniques for picture detection, such as »Active Vision«, and for system instruction, such as »Soft Computing«, are closely linked with new technologies from control and robot system technology. State-of-the-art laboratory equipment and software are available for research and development in these expanding areas.
