Image Brochure The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK stands for excellence in production science. For more than 30 years, we support our partners and customers with an international and interdisciplinary team of around 80 researchers and 120 graduate assistants in developing application oriented R&D-services. We cover the entire product life cycle – from the initial product idea and its development over product design and manufacturing to recycling and questions of product disposal. Our processes and technologies are the result of a holistic approach. We work to combine economic reasoning and state-of-the-art in technology with ecological demands for sustainability and environmental friendliness. In doing so, we rely on the innovativity and the engagement of our staff. Systematically and with a long term perspective we promote specific know-how and creative young researchers with respect to our core competencies for the management, the product creation, the production process and the design of entire industrial plants. The brochure »Technologies for the Future« presents our competencies, offers an overview of our spectrum of services and gives an insight into the way we at Fraunhofer IPK engage in research and development.
